Brother. Drop Cryptic New Visuals for "EZ"

Indie/alt band Brother. have just unveiled their video for their latest single "EZ." Narrating the need to slow down and to simply take it "EZ," the single is a wash of dreamy analog gems and laid-back alt moments that give this song the hazy, vintage edge. Despite the track already being a masterpiece, now we have a visual aspect to really sink our teeth into.

The accompanying video for "EZ" is a mixture of intimate, affecting and somewhat charming moments. Band member Chuck Emery, rolls out fluid, hectic movements reflective of the lyrical mood. The song narrates needing to rest the mind and body after turmoil or stress and the video captures this perfectly. A blur of subtle color changes is perhaps a deliberate tribute to the array of feelings we experience during rough mental patches, or indeed just what it is to be human. The video is mostly shot over an aesthetically pleasing bedroom, interchanging between slow and fast choreography and camera movements.

A more charming but symbolic moment is towards the end, showcasing a bleak desert tea party, with bleeding red cake and the company of stiff, falling mannequins. While we may seem fresh and white on the outside, the burning torment of the mind can rage a red fire within us. The most intricate detail is the blurring out of Emery's eyes, potentially related to the absorbed haze of the mind and lack of mental vision and clarity when swimming through the depths of depression, anxiety and stagnancy. Overall, the video contains subtle key moments and elements that totally mirror the often unseen physical symptoms of an internal battle.
