Dennis Lloyd Transcends Genre Limits With Follow Up Anthem,   "Never Go Back"

You might be familiar with "Nevermind," Dennis Lloyd's 2016 self-released viral hit which blew a storm throughout the music scene, found itself platinum in seven countries, and topped several charts. Riding the wave of success, the singer, producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist is back with a follow-up anthem set to speak volumes about his artistic style and talent.

"Never Go Back" is the first release of 2019 for Lloyd and highlights his ability to transcend genre limits and bring us hypnotic tracks that pull at various influences. Following his service in the army, Lloyd relocated to Bangkok and quarantined himself in a single bedroom apartment with no exposure to the internet. His time in Bangkok resulted in over 40 songs, including "Nevermind" and "Never Go Back," both finding a muse in a Colombian woman. It was this artistic escape that created a lasting foundation for Lloyd as an artist.

The song feels nostalgic and as Lloyd croons for a love that has gone awry, we cannot help but feel the pain behind his lyrics. There is a rawness that is addicting and intriguing. His incorporation of Spanish-sung lyrics brings us closer to the love story between him and his mysterious Colombian woman. And as you start to classify the track as purely electronic, Lloyd throws in a trumpet solo to keep you on your toes.

Catchy and irresistible, "Never Go Back" is the perfect follow up to the success of "Nevermind" and is only the beginning of what is set to be a promising year for Lloyd. With an upcoming debut EP set for April and a North American headline tour including stops at Coachella and Governors Ball, the young auteur has only just scratched the surface.
