Emotional Oranges Quenches Our Thirst for Alt-R&B With "Someone Else"

It has been almost a full year since Emotional Oranges made their surprise debut with the tingling "Motion," and we still do not know much about the mysterious R&B duo. Allowing their captivating music to speak for itself, Emotional Oranges specializes in R&B anthems with a futuristic soundscape by way of funky basses and stylish guitar riffs. In anticipation of their forthcoming EP, The Juice Vol 1., Emotional Oranges is quenching our thirst for innovative R&B with "Someone Else."

The ultimate alt-pop banger, "Someone Else" opens with a distinct violin and crushing percussion, which is later joined by Emotional Oranges' sincere lyricism. With hints of the throwback R&B we have enjoyed in the mystifying duo's existing discography, "Someone Else" is a message to those who should leave their relationships if they feel unsatisfied with their partner. As the riveting violins continue throughout the percussion-driven song, Emotional Oranges proves that their celebrated music can and will prevail without having to reveal the masterminds behind this awe-inspiring project.

On "Someone Else," Emotional Oranges reflected,

"This is the first time we've collaborated on a track outside of our camp. Dante Jones of THEY. helped produce this one. We wanted it to be on some 2020 Dr. Dre x Emotional Oranges energy. Wrote it about openly telling my girl that if she's unhappy, she needs to go be with someone else!"
