Experience Speelburg's 'Cosmic Longing' On New Single "When You Want Me" [Premiere]

Only seven months in, 2020 can be described in a lot of different ways. A train wreck. A disaster. A  catastrophe. Like the running of the bulls only if the bulls were heat-seeking missiles and they were sent to demolish your entire well-being.

Okay, maybe the last one was a bit overboard but you get the picture.  2020 hasn't been very kind to us, to say the least.

Hoping to turn things around as we say goodbye to the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad first half of the year is emerging singer/songwriter/producer Speelburg.

Gearing up to release his debut album Porsche September 18th featuring singles  "World Is Falling Apart (this version),"  "Lay It Right," "Kline" and today's newly released track  "When You Want Me," the Brighton, England musician is finally ready to express himself.

"When I was writing Porsche, I really wanted to make sure I wasn't just writing love songs or songs about grief," he says. "It felt like those songs were filling up the hard drive without saying anything new."

He added, "I think we put a lot of stock in debut albums and how they’re supposed to be some kind of mission statement for a career to come. In some ways, it’s probably true but surely the fun thing about art and music is precisely the freedom to reinvent itself with every new outing."

As for his speedy new single  "When You Want Me," which is premiering today exclusively on Ones To Watch, the fun-loving artist said,  "'When You Want Me' is a song about cosmic longing. Like, when you find someone and you're both linked through time and space. Be it love, infatuation or friendship, I've got a few people in my life where it just feels like our frequencies are humming in tandem. Whenever we find ourselves in the world, it's like no time has passed and we're always available to each other, night and day and in any dimension."

For your next glimpse into Porsche – and hopefully a sign of better days ahead – be sure to check out Speelburg's self-produced and self-directed video for "When You Want Me" below.
