NIKI DEMAR Proves a Pop Tour De Force With  'Nights Alone'

In one of the many role reversals multi-talented creatives are afforded currently, NIKI DEMAR has built an audience, a loyal and dedicated one, long before traditional structures might have afforded her one. This is distinctly palatable in two ways: it clearly allows her room to lyrically explore and expand her sonic breadth on her newest EP Nights Alone and despite her immense success, in fashion especially, the content of the EP remains that of a small town youth coming to grips with the everyday strife, in a heartwarming relatable way.

Hailing from Pennsylvania, NIKI was first noticed for being an honest content creator, where her personality and boldness is easy to celebrate, particularly her interest in fashion. But NIKI is not one of those defacto pop acts because of success on a prior platform, she has a genuine singing talent and the raw confessional nature of her content creation becomes the flourishing source of her songwriting.

The lead single off the EP, "Alone in My Car," cemented her success as a credible multiple threat, as it was a song that exploded during the early stages of the pandemic, striking a nerve as many of us retreated to our cars to alleviate the immense anxiety and uncertainty of 2020. "Messy room" is a boisterous fete about the safety and isolation her room affords her (another pandemic approbate gem). "Stuck" is the focus track of this EP and possibly one of her most interesting songs thus far, featuring a snippy beat and delicate cadence shifts, the tempo shifts and syncopation is a true vehicle for what NIKI's future music could allude to.

"25" is a lovely, if saddening ballad about the struggles of adulthood, navigating a path and becoming comfortable with imperfect choices. "City" is another lyrically wrenching effort, detailing the difficult task of trying to create distance to someone despite that person still very much traveling through your heart and mind. And finally the EP ends with another prior single, "Bite of Me," a potential anthem for self-created internet moguls, dealing with some of the negative sides of that success.

NIKI has truly started a path of stardom with Nights Alone, collecting the emotional debris of over two years of her life. It's undeniable her pedigree has the prerequisites for pop success but clearly all her nights alone have placed NIKI on the cusp of redefining what a new generation of talent will be defined by.
