The Trusted Admit Their Naivety in New Single "The Innocent" [Premiere]

British alt rock band The Trusted, showcase their vibrant charm in the bright, new single "The Innocent." Written about being gleefully unaware of life's hurdles, the song takes us back to the days of our youth, when life seemed so simple and straightforward. Do you remember the times of no rent, no bills and no worries besides waiting for your crush to text you back? The Trusted pay homage to those carefree days and confess their moments of inexperience.

Not only does "The Innocent" emit a sense of adolescence through its lyrics, but it backs up this ideology with energetic melodies, a spirited rhythm section and an entirely infectious chorus. The foursome seek influence from the likes of The 1975 and The Clash, combining their dynamic force, guitar-led melodies and relatable, storytelling lyrics to produce a distinct and intoxicating sound for twenty-somethings.

Hailing from the seaside town of Southend-on-Sea, Dave Batchelor, Dale Holt-Mead, Fin Cunningham and Tom Cunningham have come together to create a bold and magnetic release, sharing, "The Innocent is kind of a reaction to our own naivety and inexperience. It's a kind of like a mini indie cinematic melodrama about wanting to deconstruct and reassemble the world. It's definitely a playful reaction to American ideals of believing you can do anything."
