TRISHES Takes a Stand on World Refugee Day with "Language" Video

There are musicians who simply make music, and there are musicians who inspire movements. TRISHES is unequivocally the latter. The first-generation American pop artist, who volunteers with an organization call Mosaic Refugee Support Team that helps resettle refugees and asylum seekers in Los Angeles, has just released a music video accompanying her single "Language" in honor of World Refugee Day.

On the track, which comes off of TRISHES'  EGO EP,  the artist's haunting vocal guides us through a labyrinth of sound and emotion. Flanked by aching piano chords and ambient production, the singer recounts her experiences with a particular family that she met through her volunteer work.

Regarding the song TRISHES explained,

"As a kid of immigrants, immigration issues feel especially personal. With the vilification and inhumane treatment of refugees/asylum seekers by the current US administration, I am hoping to offer an alternative narrative and show the beauty that refugees bring to our country. I would also love to raise awareness of the 30,000 person refugee cap implemented by the current administration, which is the lowest it's been since the Refugee Act of 1980 despite the most worldwide refugees since WWII."

The music video accompanying "Language" takes on the role of a mini documentary. Over TRISHES' crystalline arrangement, it follows the family that inspired the song through their daily life just one year after fleeing political violence in their home country.
