Wario Slim Takes Us Back to the Early 2000's With "Because of You"

Wario Slim is a Los Angeles-based rocker who combines elements of punk rock, hip-hop, and pop. Wario's new single, "Because of You," takes us back to the early 2000's. The single represents the trauma we go through in life and how it ultimately makes us who we are. This is a coming-of-age rock anthem for those who have been in any kind of toxic relationship and in the end have had to figure out how to put themselves back together.

The song's surrounding creative direction draws on the iconic early 2000's teen-drama movie, Thirteen. The movie tells the story of a young girl losing herself due to a toxic relationship. Synergies between the song and film create a visually appealing and interesting cocktail of angst.

If you didn't get the memo, pop-punk is back (not like it ever left). Wario growls, screams, and sings his way through "Because Of You" to deliver an equally hard-hitting and entertaining single. Written with multi platinum songwriter Pablo Bowman (Marshmello, Louis Tomlinson, Bebe Rexha), "Because of You kicks off with a restrained scream, "You call me crazy I don't like you when you try to call me names/I know it's fucked up right now but you know that we are both to blame."

The production combined with Wario's magnetic vocals make this a song not to miss. With only a handful of singles to his name, the Los Angeles rocker is creating absolute bangers out the gate like. It's safe to say we'll be listening closely for what's to come.
