Addison Rae Sets the Stage For Pop Stardom in "High Fashion"

She’s done it again folks. Rising pop supreme Addison Rae’s new single “High Fashion” is here and marks a three-peat for the widely doubted, natural born star. The instant hit “High Fashion” comes complete with a stunning music video shot in Rae’s home state of Louisiana and the admission that her debut album is coming sooner than we may think. In a chat with Zane Lowe about the new track, Rae cheekily shared news of the album’s completion and talked about following her gut while building the world around what will be her first full-length record.

The arrival of “High Fashion” expands on the distinctly imaginative vision Rae has for her music, and for her life. Her every move is met with reluctance from a world that refuses to see her as anything other than a “TikToker,” yet there’s nothing and no one who can stop an artist who celebrates themselves wholeheartedly and speaks a clear visual language. “Diet Pepsi” and “Aquamarine” were just a warm-up for the release of “High Fashion,” an epic celebration of Rae’s lust for life and freedom of expression.

“High Fashion” is dynamic in every sense of the word, from the production to the lyrics to the visuals, all adding to its excellence. Rae maintains a level of playfulness in everything she does, which makes the music even more addicting to dance and sing along to. In an industry riddled with sex, drugs, and pop stardom, she makes the bold claim that clothes will always be her vice of choice. At the surface, it’s just that, a fun dedication to dressing up filled with clever metaphors and sensuality, but there’s a real underlying power being harnessed through the music and its complementary visuals.

The music video for “High Fashion” is Rae’s most ambitious visual yet, with nods to her roots and complete with stunning fashion, dancing, and unbridled self-expression. Directed by Mitch Ryan and creative directed by Rae and her bestie Lexee Smith, only the merging of these creative minds could produce the masterpiece that is the “High Fashion” music video. No matter if she’s picking out her outfit at home or dancing in front of an empty field set ablaze, Rae is in control of her own destiny from frame to frame. In the song she seductively whispers, “I know how to make the hard things look really easy,” and more than proves it in this cinematic achievement that tethers the two mediums together flawlessly.

Addison Rae is paving her own path and if you can't already tell, AR1 is one of our most anticipated albums of 2025. Witnessing a pop star reject outside opinion to pursue her creative dreams is more than refreshing, it’s impactful. With singles this strong, we’re being primed for a debut record for the ages. In the meantime, with “High Fashion” on repeat and powdered sugar on the tip of our tongue, we’ll be waiting for what’s next.
