BIZZY Channels Existential Dread Into the Soaring "When It Ends"

BIZZY is laying all of her inner thoughts on the table in her new sweeping single, “When It Ends.” The track highlights the young singer-songwriter’s signature emotional performance while giving listeners more insight into her intimate fears and relatable intrusive thoughts. The track serves as the first look into her artistic direction after releasing her debut EP, I Don’t Get Breakups. Instead of focusing on relationships, “When It Ends” is about the constant stream of anxieties that creep in when life seems too hard, or too good, to handle.

The track starts off somber with a lone guitar and the inclusion of a vulnerable voice memo, creating a delicate soundscape to introduce the existential musings of the 25-year-old artist. BIZZY’s vocals are naturally charged with emotion, but in “When It Ends,” she pushes them to new heights. The chorus is cinematic, with epic drums that cultivate a stadium-rock vibe. Over the strong instrumentation, she begs to be shown grace while navigating adulthood to the best of her ability. Each word is more relatable than the next, expressing the odd sensation of still feeling like a kid but being expected to function as an adult.

Seeking validation is a central theme of "When It Ends," a nuanced topic that not everyone has the courage to voice. BIZZY struggles with existence while simultaneously being afraid of the day when it ends, and begs for external validation to prove she’s not alone in these tangled feelings. The chorus ends with a powerful request of a simple promise—to stand by her side when it’s all coming to a close.

On the inspiration behind the track, the young artist shares, “Sometimes, when things seem to be going well from an outside perspective, I find myself grappling with the overwhelming fear that all I’ve worked so hard for may vanish.”
