Country and hip-hop sensation BRELAND's latest track "Natural" is a glimpse of what’s to come on the 26-year-old artist's highly anticipated debut album, CROSS COUNTRY, set to release September 9. You probably know Breland from his platinum debut "My Truck," which garnered the top spot on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 playlist and later got remixed by country star Sam Hunt, landing the track on both The New York Times and NPR’s Best of the Year lists. In his most recent release, which first premiered with a live performance on The Today Show, BRELAND pays homage to the influential women in his life and women in country music who have paved the way for the genre.

"Natural" leans heavily into BRELAND’s country twang, in both production and lyrical content. At its core, this new track was conceived as an interpolation of Shania Twain’s "Man! I Feel Like A Woman," combining the iconic riffing guitars and drums of the classic track with his own lyrics, which “resulted in an ode to women in their natural elements and loving what God gave them just as they are,” as BRELAND puts it. He adds, “It’s awesome seeing the resurgence of '90s country and its influence on today’s new music. I’ve noticed a lot of people have been taking inspiration from a lot of male artists, so I wanted to sample one of country music’s most influential females.” The result is a perfect country-inspired, pop-vocal leaning track, featuring BRELAND’s ever-impressive vocals. In addition, the single arrives with an Alex Bittan-directed music video that highlights BRELAND’s infectious and charismatic personality.

BRELAND is helping to pave the way for an emerging hybrid of country and hip-hop, and with "Natural," he has shown that there is truly no limits to how he can navigate and fuse these two distinctive genres.
