Bryant Barnes Releases Long-Awaited “Give Me A Sign,” Ahead of Debut EP

Summer has finally descended upon us. At long last we are able to properly frolic and embrace the joy embedded within this year’s song of the summer candidates (delivered to us via Tinashe, Sabrina Carpenter, and Charli XCX of course). While many will spend their summer days contemplating matching freaks or me espressos, those with their ear to the ground will be engaging in a more emotive and mindful summer soundtracked by none other than Bryant Barnes.

This month Houston R&B favorite Barnes releases his long-awaited banger “Give Me A Sign,” a track that synthesizes lo-fi pop with alternative R&B into something just as unique as it is polished. Over stripped-back guitar chords, our king bears his soul, describing the romantic tension he shares with someone even though all he desires is open and honest communication. Clearly, he is a better communicator than his partner, because fans have been ravenous for this track long before its eventual release.

“Give Me A Sign” synthesizes Shiloh Dynasty vulnerability with the artistic brilliance of a Sade or Giveon, and luckily it seems like Barnes is showing no sign of slowing down. With his debut EP VANITY coming soon, Barnes is sure to carry R&B on his back all summer (and then some).
