Chloe Moriondo Dives To New Depths With "girls with gills"

Chloe Moriondo dives to new depths on her latest single, "girls with gills." The new track is a fierce and bouncy alternative anthem that oozes a seductive, club-ready aura, feeling like a natural successor to her critically acclaimed recent album, oyster.

The single is a carefree and dynamic effort that opens with a collection of bouncy beats and clubby pop percussion. Moriondo's vocals offer a ton of fun moments as she cheekily croons lines about a night out in the bioluminescent lights of her undersea world. As she delivers cheeky lines like, "Stay or don't stay/ We're here anyway/ Go or don't go/ It doesn't matter..." the singer-songwriter shows off her fiery confidence on the catchy as hell chorus, washing the listener with a rush of euphoria and making us all wish we could be "girls with gills."

"'girls with gills' is what you hear bumping from the hottest club in Atlantis," says Chloe. "If you can get down, you can get in!! It's full of sparkle, chaos, bubbles, and mermaids shaking ass."

"girls with gills" follows Moriondo's critically acclaimed third studio album, oyster, which arrived this past spring. Written in the aftermath of turbulent life changes, the record was created with a close-knit team of cowriters and producers, including Jonah Summerfield, Chloe Kraemer, AfterHrs, and more. The album sees Moriondo pulling from all her musical palettes - from heartfelt balladry to fierce hyper-pop, cathartic pop-punk to sparkling indie-pop - crafting a sound entirely her own and delving into the depths of heartbreak, cataloging the process of resurfacing braver, wiser, and ready to dive back in.
