EMELINE Feels and Heals in the Emotionally Impactful "Venting to Strangers"

A cathartic ballad, “Venting to Strangers” is EMELINE’s raw revelation on loss, grief, and subsequently, healing.

From trauma bonds to filling voids with empty connections, Rhode Island-born songstress EMELINE shatters every boundary that once stood in between the artist and the human. There’s a visceral sense of aching on this single, one that invites you in to mourn along with her and reflect on any of your own endings left unprocessed.

With chilling vocals laid over stunning keys, EMELINE's voice is the most powerful instrument on “Venting to Strangers.” There isn’t much in the background to dilute her truth nor distract you from drowning in the depths of her. With lines like “I wish I was someone other than me,” EMELINE has taken a departure from her usual beat and entered an evolved space.

It’s evident that the growth in her musicality is informed by her own personal development within, giving birth to something much more intimate and self-aware. In getting to know herself more deeply, she’s able to stand as a more realized artist and use vulnerability as her compass. Reflecting on the single, EMELINE shares ”I’m so grateful to be in a place where I feel safe enough to lean into the power of vulnerability and put it into music. You have my heart and now a part of my story. It's our time to feel, mourn, heal, and step into the next phase of life.”

Using noise and echo chambers to distract you from the truth is only a prolonging of suffering, and EMELINE has bravely confronted her own heartbreak on “Venting to Strangers,” saving herself and becoming anew.
