georgee Finds Salvation In Solitude in “Tell Me”

Though nobody enjoys the company of friends like I do, there’s something to be said about the meditative power of solitude. My peers might call me crazy, but some Saturdays are best spent working on oneself instead of going out and paying 17 dollars for a vodka soda. Luckily, I don’t seem to be the only one who feels this way, as this week indie-pop-meets-alt-R&B mastermind georgee returns with his newest single and visual “tell me,” a jazzy love letter to lost romance and the healing power of isolation.

Synthesizing an uncommon affinity for cowboy denim and pearls, georgee finds his creative and spiritual stride in his newest visual for “tell me”. Directed by Chase Denton, “tell me” is a powerful showcasing of an artist finding themselves in a pastoral playground before exploding with artistic brilliance on stage. georgee flirts with an aural register that sounds like if Shayhan made “Sunday Candy,” but his unique approach to songwriting is just as clever as it is understated. He’s been left burnt, but he’s not down, and on this Frank Paris-directed visual, he displays himself doing the work required to return onstage. Whether he’s cathartically dancing in a lake or licking his wounds while lying in a flower bed, georgee consistently puts his best foot forward.

At this point, it may be safe to say that georgee might be four-for-four with his recent string of singles. If “tell me” and its visual doesn’t win you over in the wake of the previously-released "split" or "baby4u," you honestly might have to get your ears checked. Dead set on taking over your weekly rotation, it’s only a matter of time until georgee sets his eyes on world domination. Until then, let his dulcet tones decorate your summertime playlist as the weather begins to heat up.
