Alt-pop sensation Holly Humberstone gives fans one last sneak peek into her upcoming debut record, Paint My Bedroom Black, with the release of her latest single, "Superbloodmoon." An ode to the phenomenon when Earth's moon turns crimson in the night sky during a total lunar eclipse, Humberstone teams up with singer and songwriter d4vd to create an immersive track that imagines two people staring at the extraordinary lunar eclipse from opposite sides of the world.

"Superbloodmoon" opens with Humberstone's lulling and emotive vocals smoothly sailing over layers of understated guitar riffs and subdued percussion. She recounts how much time has passed since she last said goodbye to someone she cares about and wonders "if you're still mine." In the chorus, she expresses that they "...could dive if you wanna, we could slow it down" and that their love has become "a cold kinda love from a distance."

d4vd's presence on the single is the perfect choice for such a vulnerable and emotionally fragile piece of work. The Texas native's comforting vocals chime in on the chorus. "And I've missed your soul forever," before he goes on to express his own anxieties and his need for a "desperate kind of love," declare the duo.

"I had been a huge fan of d4vd's work for about a year and was lucky enough to catch him whilst he was in London," shares Humberstone. "We went into the studio and wrote 'Superbloodmoon.' It came pretty naturally as we had both been touring for what seemed like forever, and wanted to write about the feelings that come with leaving your home and the people you love behind. I had the title for the song on my notes, and it just stemmed from there. We wrote about witnessing the same thing from opposite sides of the world and feeling lonely but connected through that experience at the same time. I love the song, and I'm so grateful to d4vd for bringing it to life with me."

"Holly and I met in London and wrote this song in just a few hours," add d4vd. "It was really effortless and special. We both loved the idea of a Superbloodmoon and two people witnessing the same thing no matter where they are in the world. We also got to perform it together at my show in London a couple months ago, which was the first time I've ever gotten to collab with someone onstage like that, and it was really fun. I'm very grateful to Holly for having me on this song."

The accompanying music video is a simple yet engaging visual that mirrors the space and yearning found in the single. Opening on Holly alone in her black-walled bedroom, which is an apparent reference to the title of the upcoming album, she sings to no one as the camera pans out and reveals d4vd seemingly on the other side of the wall but in reality in a different room far away. The two sing together in separate locations, with their longing vocal delivery and emotions amplified with the visualization of their loneliness.

Holly Humberstone's debut album Paint My Bedroom Black represents her coming of age, growing from an unknown singer at her parent's piano to one of her generation's most exciting alternative, rising pop stars. "Superbloodmoon," as well as the entirety of the upcoming album, reflects Humberstone's ever-shifting surroundings as she relentlessly traveled the globe last year on tour and attempted to find an anchor in places distant from home. The dark and otherworldly space Humberstone has built and invited fans into has been lucid and visceral, both sonically and visually. The rising star dropped "Antichrist" and "Room Service" last month, with the double A-Side singles juxtaposing her introspection and extroversion—the coexistence of light and dark.
