Jenna Raine's Latest Pop Anthem Is Aimed at Your Ex Who “Fumbled the Bag”

Gen Z pop star on the rise Jenna Raine returns to tell an ex exactly how she feels on her latest track, "Fumbled The Bag." The vulnerable track is a tell-it-like-it-is anthem that doesn't hold back from telling an ex they're at fault.

"Fumbled The Bag" opens with Raine describes the sick, pit in your stomach feeling of running into your ex. Warm acoustic guitar riffs intertwine with Raine's smooth vocals, taking listeners on a relatable journey set to reclaim one's power. The singer-songwriter shares that the single was based on real-life events, "'Fumbled the Bag' was inspired by two of my close friends who had breakups before the summer."

Raine sings, "So don't call me overdramatic / Pretending the story of us isn't tragic," as the song builds to its incredibly infectious chorus. "I wanted to write a song that captures how terribly these guys fumbled the bag." Ultimately, the song is about reclaiming your power. "It's meant to help them realize that their ex is the one who messed up, not them," she adds. 

The accompanying music video, directed by Nayip Ramos, is a sweet visual with oscillating scenes of the past and present. The video opens with Raine working at a diner, serving as a waitress for her ex-boyfriend while he's on a date. Then, while tending to her broken heart, she looks at photos of the two of them together before we flash forward and see a carefree Raine out with her friends. 

When the ex-boyfriend reappears and tries to worm his way back into her life, she pushes back and gives him a piece of her mind as she sings the lines, "What if you got it all wrong and I was the one all along? / Hate to say, "I told you so," but baby ain't it sad / You fumbled the bag." The video ends with clips of Jenna performing the song to her ex, while scenes of her past and present self find closure.
