And in spite of the simultaneously self-assured and self-defeating statement, Capaldi's debut, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, is already being showered in critical praise and is in the running to beat out Ariana Grande's Thank U, Next for fastest-selling album of 2019.

With Capaldi fever in full swing and currently on an international tour in support of his lauded debut, we caught up with the Scottish singer-songwriter in proper fashion. In other words, we asked him to recount his wildest night out at his local nightclub and let us in on if Niall Horan really does smell like flowers.
