Just six months after releasing her acclaimed debut album Heaven Knows, indie pop darling PinkPanthress is back with her first release of 2024 "Turn It Up," and we can't help but do just that. Throughout the vibrant track, she captures a pleading back-and-forth interaction with the song's protagonist Maria and her love interest.

With a beat inspired by the iconic Selena track "Dreaming of You" and "Genie" by Girls Generation, PinkPantheress' lyrics craft a unique love story. The song revolves around a woman named Maria and her unnamed crush, recalling a moment of infatuation in the most sacred of places—the dance floor. "I won't tell them I met you in the club / You remember our favorite song was playing / And every word that came out your mouth was wrong / Oh Maria, Maria," she sings. In the delightful hook, she swoons with lines like "You just make me wanna say, Hey, it's me / We've been talking twice a week" swirling amid the lively production. The propulsive, infectious beat and the singer's distinctive voice make this track a must-listen.

"Super excited to share my first release of 2024, turn it up, so proud to pay homage to a beautiful song, and I hope the people love it too," PinkPantheress, who also wrote and produced the song, shares in a statement.

Beginning in July, the British artist will kick off her 'Capable of Love Tour' to celebrate her debut album, Heaven Knows. After several festival appearances, the run officially kicks off on July 19 in Philadelphia.
