quinnie Effortlessly Scratches Our "itch" For Ethereal Folk-Pop Musings

New Jersey indie pop artist quinnie continues to pull on our heartstrings in her latest single, "itch." The sensitive track oozes vulnerability, with the artist detailing her growing feelings toward someone and asking herself if she'll ever feel fulfilled.

"itch" dives right in with glistening guitar riffs and quinnie's sweet vocals, painting a picture of quiet anxiety, sonically creating a feeling reminiscent of butterflies in the stomach. The 21-year-old declares that although she's "oversaturated," she's also honest and "can't fucking wait for the day that I finally get to kiss you." When the summery track breaks into its chorus, warm instrumentals wrap up listeners in a cocoon of existentialism as quinnie asks, "What if I never scratched another / Itch for the rest of my life? / Would I die satisfied / Knowing it could always get better than this?"

The accompanying music video, directed by quinnie and Jake Weinberg, is a nostalgic, intimate visual that perfectly captures the distinctive tension you feel right before you kiss someone new. Viewers follow quinnie as she spends time with potential love interests in various picturesque scenes, including a picnic in the woods, laying on top of the hood of a car while holding hands, and sitting in candle-lit rooms. Each unique setting with each lover feels like a precious vignette into the life of someone experiencing blossoming love for the first time, with freeze frames holding the moment just before that initial moment of physical connection. The sweet, blush-inducing visual brings out feelings of buzzing excitement and bashful nerves, ultimately culminating in an image of two people accepting and embracing their feelings against an incandescent-lit backdrop.

"itch" follows the success of her previous single, "man," which has now amassed more than one million streams worldwide and 60K video views. The sentimental artist continues to make listeners fall head over heels with her musical gift by wearing her heart on her sleeve and making music that, despite being inspired by a variety of genres ranging from folk, ambient, and pop, remains uniquely her own.
