A contemporary R&B-pop artist from England, Shae Jacobs focuses his intimate songwriting on the devastating heartbreak and necessary healing in the never-ending cycle of complex relationships. With "Not Supposed To," Jacobs reminds us that it's not so easy to simply forget someone you once felt so connected to, but we can always rely on our true friends to carry us through the difficult breakup recovery process. Ahead of his forthcoming debut EP, Jacob shares with you the groovy visuals for his latest emotive single, "Not Supposed To."

Opening with a retro television reminiscent of an earlier decade, the "Not Supposed To" music video follows Jacobs as he reluctantly ends a romantic relationship with a woman he still cares for deeply. In a desperate attempt to get over this unfaithful woman, Jacobs seeks comfort from his closest friends, who get him to cruise around town and share a meal at an old-school diner to hopefully distract him from the nasty breakup. To everyone's surprise, Jacobs' ex-girlfriend shows up at the same eatery, but it's unsure whether or not Jacobs actually notices her.

Shae Jacobs exclusively shared with Ones To Watch:

"I decided on the storyline for the music video shortly after I finalized my EP, which was definitely inspired by my own experience. The director Cole and I wanted to make sure we captured the battle between logic and emotion from the guy's point of view, since it isn't always talked about from the male perspective. Then I brought it to life in a fun way with styles from my favorite childhood shows, 'Fresh Prince' and 'Martin.'"
