rommulas and 2hollis Bridge Avant-Garde Pop and Reggaeton in "left to right"
If you thought hyperpop and reggaeton couldn’t possibly merge, rommulas and 2hollis have unsurprisingly defied all odds. The production genius behind rommulas’ debut song, “left to right” is equally addictive and raunchy.
2hollis is actively collecting slots for festival season, headlining his own fall North American tour, all the while throwing out features for friends like rose petals. While the melodic track is many people’s intro to rommulas, he’s been a member of 2hollis’ inner circle for quite some time. It was only right that he give being on the mic a try, impressively proving his musical command.
Weaving in and out of Spanish and English, “Ella pensaba que yo soy güero / And I'm really f****ng winning, need a medal,” “left to right” feels like a departure from 2hollis' more signature work, though it honors his ability to shapeshift while maintaining his eccentric bite. Nothing about him is sedentary, in pure allegiance to his own fluidity.
With 2hollis’ verse understandably outshining, the song has already stirred a positive reaction from his devotees. Many are crediting it as his best feature yet, comparing it to his more recent stint on nate sib’s for us.
As “left to right” proves, being a nepo-friend isn’t all that bad when you get one of the stickiest debut tracks out of it. Hopefully, this is only the beginning of rommulas marking his territory, bringing a blazing Latin flair to the hyperpop realm.
