Setlist.Fm Presents: Who Is Blossoms? [NEW ARTIST DISCOVERY]

Setlist.Fm's weekly "Who Is" series is an immersive way to expose readers to up-and-coming indie acts that should be on your radar; written by music fans for music fans. Each week we feature an artist and/or band that's making waves in the music world. The "Who Is" pieces are a tell-all of the artist, showcasing everything from music and performance style, to influences and tour dates. This week we'd like you to meet indie-pop Brits, Blossoms.

After releasing their sophomore album in May 2018, Cool Like You, the Manchester rockers quickly peaked in our Setlist.Fm stats, urging us to see what the hype was all about – and we're glad we did. The album itself reached number 4 on the UK Albums Chart and number 1 on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart. Unlike their debut self-titled album, the new release veers away from guitar-driven tracks and instead embraces synth, allowing the boys to encroach on new, sonic territory.

Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock are a product of the Manchester music scene, much like their idols Noel and Liam Gallagher. Fittingly, the five-piece has opened for both Gallagher brothers on tour. Ogden's first concert, as a fan, was Oasis.

The music video for their first single, "I Can't Stand It," is self-directed and inspired by cult classic film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

They just wrapped up a tour in support of the release, which featured an incredible amount of sold-out gigs, proof that their own brand of "Madchester" is leaving a mark on fans. To find out more about Blossoms, make sure to read up on their "Who Is" piece.
