Tate McRae Cements Her Global Pop Takeover With 'THINK LATER'

Canadian artist Tate McRae is a genuine triple threat. She is the coalescence of a skilled dancer, an incredible singer, and an authentic songwriter. Utilizing these skills and creativity, it's little wonder she regularly went viral, making choreographed TikTok and YouTube videos, further drawing the eyes of the world to her. Since then, she has responded by dazzling us with her music and endearing us with her persona.

If her meteoric rise has felt like it happened overnight, that’s only because you haven’t been paying attention. She's put in the work. Her sophomore album, THINK LATER, crystallisez a lifetime of hard work and personal transformation, catapulting off her formative years that started long before her appearance on So You Think You Can Dance The Next Generation at the tender age of 13. But now, radiating confidence that screams that she belongs at the top, it’s safe to say this JUNO award-winning artist has evolved into a bonafide pop superstar.

THINK LATER marks a distinct change in style and philosophy for McRae, admitting she “grew bored of writing sad music.” Her latest album is a precise expression of this new outlook. It's fun, energetic, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. The album is chalked full of banger after banger. Layering clever lyricism over bombastic beats and hooks creates addicting tracks like “Greedy” and “Guilty Conscience” that you can't help but play on repeat. Yet, THINK LATER is still full of the honesty and self-reflection we are used to seeing from McRae, with tracks like “Grave” and “Stay Done” feeling very personal and raw.

Navigating the landscape of pop stardom is a challenging journey. McCrae is proving to be up to the task by unabashedly being her true self, remaining faithful to her dancing roots, making the music she wants to, and gaining more fans along the way. Her vibrant personality keeps you coming back for more, and we get the feeling she’s just getting started.
