teo glacier Teams Up With thuy For Reimagined Version of "Close With Desires (Right Person Wrong Timing)"

New Zealand's teo glacier comes back with a recreation of his hit song "close with desires (right person wrong timing)," featuring thuy. The reimagined track still embodies the bittersweet longing found in the original, but this time holds an added layer of perspective with the addition of thuy's soothing vocals.

Opening with a retro-inspired collage of R&B-infused sonics, glacier opens up about going back and forth with a partner who's not worth the time anymore. Mellow guitar riffs, rich bass lines, and twinkling piano keys line the song with a sun-soaked melancholy as he sings poignant lines like, "Seems that we already hit the summit / I could try to chase you up, but I already tried." In the pre-chorus, he admits to being unable to read between the lines, concluding that it may just be bad timing for the star-crossed couple after their partner left them.

thuy's presence on the track's second half delivers a dynamic yet soft and cooling texture, fitting in perfectly with glacier's warm vocal tone. On the song's final chorus, as the two come to realize they can't keep being in love with someone who doesn't love them back, their voices intertwine with the production in a way that enfolds the listener in a blanket of sound, inspiring anyone who listens to forget about the past and move on from a shitty situation.

The release of the duet follows the massive success of the track's original version, which earned over 15 million streams on Spotify alone, and the sped-up version, which currently has over five million streams.
