The Foundation Is Set: jxdn’s New Era Takes Shape

jxdn is no stranger to the spotlight and fame. With a quick rise to millions of eyes watching his every move on TikTok, and hit songs streamed hundreds of millions of times. But this time around, jxdn is a version of himself nobody has seen before.
“Very rarely do you get a fresh start in life. I've definitely gotten one in so many more ways than I can really explain, in my life… personally, mentally, spiritually, but now in my career, in my music,” he says.
Stepping away from punk-pop, jxdn has found a not-so-new love in R&B music. Taking inspiration from some of this generation's biggest artists with a flair only he can bring to the table.
“I grew up on church music and Justin Bieber,” he says. “Then in high school, it was Bryson Tiller… and old Drake. It’s just very serendipitous for me, and it's something I've wanted to do for a long time.”
His newest single, “Better Man,” sits at mid-tempo and provides a reflective yet growth-focused mindset from the young artist. The lyrics speak to reflection and understanding of his past, but jxdn says every step of the way is one he is happy he took.
“I look back and I wouldn't change anything. I mean, I'm really getting to the point where I'm not just happy, but I’m identified with who I am,” he recalls.
This era for jxdn has created a new sense of creative freedom—laying a new foundation and working tirelessly to build upon it for years before the new sound reaches listeners worldwide.
“I actually made this song three years ago. No one knew that I was trying. I've been trying to get into this lane for quite some time. I just felt myself becoming a little uncomfortable in the box that I had grown up in,” he said. “I just like to do risky things… and so I thought this was the perfect start for that.”
This stylistic shift was notable in the single “Reputation,” released in late 2025. The lyrics hint at the feeling of being placed in a box and unable to escape your own perception. With lyrics like “Yeah, they talking about the kid that’s the past now. Yeah, I did what I did I’m a crash out,” pointing directly to that theme.
The song fills a space of dance and freedom, bringing an upbeat tempo with a rap portion that only adds to jxdn’s creative risks—risks that have begun to pay off.
“What I've had to kind of go through these past two years is trusting my gut again, which has been an up-and-down roller coaster,” he explains.
Fans don’t just have singles to look forward to—jxdn says a full album is in the works. He is bringing his new world to life with a catalog of songs fans can enjoy, hopefully soon.
“I've been done with the project actually for a minute. Now it's just like putting the bow on the whole thing,” he said. “I've made so much music over the past few months that I really wanted. I had the option to pick and choose for this project, and I think I made the best choices, and I'm really excited for people to hear it.”
He says the entire vibe for the album is just to let loose and have fun—a drastic switch from his previous records Tell Me About Tomorrow and WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS.
“The majority of it is really just an expression that life is getting really dark,” he explains. “I want people to understand that it is a blessing to be where we're at. It is a blessing to have a life that is worth living, and so a lot of the project is that.”
When talking about the shift, jxdn says that he is not the same man who brought fans some of their favorite hits like “la di die” and “ANGELS & DEMONS.”
“That was a great time of my life, but I'm unrecognizable from that point, you know, physically, mentally, and especially sonically with the music. So being able to see that come to life feels like my hard work paying off.”
His genre wasn’t the only monumental shift in his life over the last year. jxdn says his encounter with God has created a sense of a fresh start—opening and closing doors, but giving him the opportunity to reinvent himself in this way.
“Like random crazy things happened that were so obviously out of my control, so supernatural, that I was like, okay, [God] is obviously trying to do something in me, and it's just set me up like this. I'm very much a blank canvas.”
Now he is grabbing the paint and creating a new image for fans, one stroke at a time.
“I'm okay with all of the storms that come in and all of the mishaps that happen at the beginning, because I know when this thing is built, it is going to be far more beautiful and grand than people could have expected just by looking at the foundation,” he says.
The future is unstoppable for the 25-year-old, stopping at nothing to keep creating hits, no matter the genre.
“It's not about the success, it's actually about the story, and I think this music sets me up perfectly to tell that story.”
Following that story just takes one stream to get engulfed in the new chapter for jxdn.
