TSHA Gives us a Glimpse of 'Capricorn Sun' With the Infectious "Giving Up"

A well-crafted electronic track is like an onion, or is it like an ogre? Regardless, it's all about the layers. Weaving together the layers of beats, samples, and vocals in perfect harmony.

"Giving Up" is the latest track from London-based DJ and producer extraordinaire TSHA. It ubiquitously captures this layered harmonious essence. The track is an infectious jam driven by its drum & bass beat, unique synth samples, and warped vocals. It is sure to get you dancing as it embodies the sentiment of 'being lost in the music' with its trance-like vibes. From the second this track starts playing, it transports you somewhere else entirely—a crowded room with bright lights and drinks flowing. The ideal combination for an escape from life and an opportunity to lose yourself in the moment.

"Giving Up" provides us with an interesting juxtaposition. The repetition of the phrase "giving up on love" throughout reflects feelings of heartbreak, likely in the aftermath of a failed relationship. This is in direct contrast to the vibe the song gives off. One that invites you to turn up the volume and leave your emotions behind. It begs you to allow yourself to become enraptured by the music, which one could argue, might be the best cure for lovesickness.

The '80s influence is all over the synth sounds on "Giving Up." It's a small part of what not only makes this track great but makes TSHA's entire vibe so unique. There's a reason why she is emerging in the dance scene as a young and exciting artist to watch. Her debut full-length album Capricorn Sun debuts later this year, and if "Giving Up" is a taste of what is to come, we can't wait to see what else is in store.
