Verzache Rekindles a Spark in Our Hearts With "Never Gets Old"

Zachary Farache, better known as Verzache, is a Canadian artist that doubles as a one-man wrecking crew, never ceasing to amaze me. One of those seemingly mutant DIY creatives that can commandeer countless instruments, all the while evolving by pushing his own interpersonal boundaries in tandem with each project. Full disclosure, I have a deep affinity towards Verzache, as his 2021 project My Head is a Moshpit soundtracked a chaotic time of change in my life. His latest offering, "Never Gets Old," is super addictive, a poetic dissertation on the malaise and stagnancy that comes coupled with emotional attachment.

Verzache has a Buddhist level of compassion. If it were up to me, I would have sprinted away from the particular love interest on this one. Buyer beware, Verzache has a knack to put you in the feels on some of his cuts, with this one being no exception. “Who are you? I barely know about myself,” he confesses unassumingly in the song. His vulnerability is a damn bazooka. Verzache continually proves himself an artist unafraid to visit the nooks and crannies of the human psyche that we pretend don’t exist, but that, deep down, we know are there.

This song has a little bit of everything—fuzzy electric guitars, beautiful melodies, just a slight sprinkle of glitch-core, and a drum beat that makes you feel obligated to sprint whilst sitting. At this point in his almost decade-long career, Verzache has risen to the ranks of a noble magician. His attention to detail with songwriting and meticulous scrutiny of every production detail will always make him one to watch.
