Tobias Dray Says "FUK IT," Drops Blistering Punk Single

If you’ve needed a push to quit the job you hate, cut off all your hair, or maybe take a solo trip across the country, Tobias Dray's latest track "FUK IT" is the sonic dose of motivation you've been waiting for. The frenetic, pop-rock/electronic-laced track demands to be blasted with an underlying drive to push against confining social norms, reject external stress, and just say fuck it.

Dropping last week with an accompanying video directed by Martin Klapperbein, "FUK IT" is fast, upbeat, and an electrifying collage of hyperpop, and punk rock sentiments. The song is reflective of the unique sound Dray has spent over a decade working toward, but it is also a venture into a completely new, fast-paced, and distinctive sonic experience, especially when compared to other tracks from the rising star, like ‘HMU’. In the video, we see Dray transform from an indistinct New York City businessman into a real-life anime caricature with spiked hair and a crazed look gliding across his face. Talking about his newest release, Dray states “I wanted to create myself as a character who goes nuts, as is too tired from overthinking and taking care of stuff that doesn't matter,” a sentiment that is apparent in the sound, visuals, and creative design behind "FUK IT."

After playing a sold-out headlining tour in Canada and Europe where audiences would go crazy for the then-unreleased "FUK IT," Dray knew he needed to get this song to the public.
