Aries Returns With "Fool's Gold," an Intoxicating  Joyride From Start to Finish

It has been 568 days since Aries released his debut project Welcome Home, which funnily enough feels like the same amount of time it's taking Nevada to tally votes. With that being said, Aries' long-awaited return arrives at the perfect time to not only distract us from the current state of the world but remind us why his debut project cemented the genreless wildcard as one of music's most enthralling up-and-comers.

"Fool's Gold" arrives as the lead single from Aries' forthcoming sophomore project, and it wastes little to no time in making an impact. Deftly fusing together a brash amalgamation of emo rap, alternative, and standout production, "Fool's Gold" is a brilliant reminder of Aries' initial promise and promising future.

Opening on the same summer slacker vibe and effortless flow that defined much of Welcome Home, the rug is soon pulled out from under us as flourishes of acoustic and electronic production meld to form a heavenly concoction.  In a music landscape where being genreless feels more and more like the well-calculated wishes of label executives and a team of market researchers, Aries' intoxicating vision stands a cut above the rest.

And yet, Aries sounds notably more restrained and refined on "Fool's Gold" than he did on the fatalistic highs and lows of his 2019 debut. It is a marked evolution that has us all the more excited for what's to come.

The accompanying music video is par for the course when it comes to Aries; that is to say an adrenaline-fueled joyride from start to finish created by Mattias Russo-Larsson (Coming of Age) and the budding legend himself.
