One word: chills. The best way to honestly describe this song we're ecstatic to premiere here today. Casey Conroy and Grammy-nominated artist-production duo COASTCITY team up for a powerful and heartfelt single. Featuring two flawless voices, an acoustic guitar, and a faint organ,  "Best Shoes" will put you right in your feels.

“Best Shoes" has a strong message about putting yourself out there in an unpredictable world and inevitably getting knocked down. But it's not about how hard you get knocked down, it's about how you pick yourself back up. This bilingual single tells a story about a conversation between Conroy and her mother, following a moment of defeat. She spoke further on the inspiration behind the single, sharing,

"I wrote 'Best Shoes' in a moment where I constantly felt like I was always getting up and putting my best foot forward and the world was just kept knocking me back down. It got to a point where I felt so defeated that I just wanted to run home. I wanted to call my mom and tell her I was hurting. 'Best Shoes' is that conversation I had, sitting at the end of her bed, telling her what's wrong.”

Conroy and COASTCITY's storytelling is topped off with palpable emotion, putting you in the unfurling story. You can feel the pain of defeat and fear of disappointment in their voices. The lack of overbearing instrumentation in the song allows you to focus on passion in their vocals, creating a sense of empathy for the moment of vulnerable reflection.

"Best Shoes" is a song that likely hits home for a lot of listeners. It is a companion that can really be there for you at what feels like an inescapable low. Conroy and COASTCITY have put themselves out there to be a shoulder for you to lean on.
