Dava's "Sticky" Is the Summer Bop You've Been Looking For

Ever since we were blessed with Dava's breakout single "ASOS," we've been hooked. And since then, she's been slowly pulling us in with every single song she's dropped. Her latest track, "Sticky, arrives as her second release of 2021 but is undoubtedly a standout moment for the budding pop darling. There's no other way to describe this song other than using a few words: it's f*cking cool.

From Dava's fashion sense straight down to her writing style, it's on absolute queen status. It's the attitude behind everything she does that makes it so infectious. "Sticky"  is a song embodies just that. Pulling influence from legends like No Doubt and Beastie Boys, Dava is carving her own lane that is simultaneously nostalgic and novel.

Dava explains, "'Sticky' is one of my favorite songs to date. It's upbeat and super clean for the most part, which is different for me. I wrote it about being in love and wanting to spend every second next to someone. No Doubt and The Beastie Boys were huge inspirations when I was creating this record."

Co-written by Kyle Buckley, Kyle Scherrer, and Max Levin, Dava and team found an extraordinary sound to work off of. The grooving bass lines glide through the song with ease, pushing the song along in a way where you simply can't help sway along. The drum beat, intertwined with the 808s, is perfectly layered into the track and feels so right, but what really is the cherry on top comes about three quarters of the way in, as Dava breaks down into this irresistibly funky groove.

Between the vinyl scratches and the vocal effects, we've discovered a new obsession we didn't know we needed. Dava simply never fails to impress.
