How do you spot a hit before everyone already knows it's a hit? Well, the answer to that is the most non-answer there is: you know it when you see it. Well in this case, hear it. And let me tell you, ericdoa has a hit on his hands.
"fantasize" has been a long time coming. First teasing the track back in January, the culmination of snippets amounts to the perfect summer breakout moment. Blending elements of hyperpop and effortlessly cool hip-hop delivery, ericdoa breezes through the two-and-a-half minute track without ever losing his footing. The act is instantaneously infectious, embodying all the markings of a distinctively captivating earworm.
And like every great single, "fantasize" arrives hand in hand with an eye-catching music video. Shot in a lighting outlet store, ericdoa lets us all into his fantasy. A fantasy where a humdrum employee could be the star of the show, where the girl of your dreams finally looks your way.
With is breakneck pacing and standout production, "fantasize" may not just be a breakout moment for ericdoa but a contender for song of the summer. The hyperpop wunderkind is setting sail for the mainstream.
