Indie-pop duo Flora Cash does not make light of hardships;  instead, they pen captivating songs which capture the struggles of life and love. Their latest EP, Press is an emotion-packed project that is truly poignant and graceful all at once. The lyrics in all five mid-tempo tracks are pure poetry accompanied by lush harmonies and unexpected synths.

By a stroke of fate and the power of the internet, Cole Randall and Shpresa Lleshaj bridged the gap of the 4,249 miles that separated them. In Minneapolis, Randall was uploading his music to SoundCloud. Meanwhile, in Sweden, Lleshaj stumbled across Randall's music and began leaving comments on his songs. Online messages turned to phone calls which led to video chats, and eventually snowballed into Lleshaj buying a plane ticket to meet Randall IRL.  The two soulmates were later married and began releasing music back in 2013. Over the years, indie-pop duo Flora Cash has refined and matured their sound which is made quite clear throughout  Press' stunning  five-track run.

Opening the EP is "Indie On Loud" which like the title suggests, showcases Flora Cash's mastery of indie-pop-flavored aesthetics. Towards the end of the song, listeners are surprised by a beat drop followed by infectious synths which introduce the infusion of pop, a prominent feature in the rest of Press.

Flora Cash bare their hearts in songs like "I Wasted You," "You're Somebody Else," and "Breakthrough." Through gorgeous guitar strums and piano melodies, these song feels extremely personal and emotionally raw. Another standout song on the EP is the previously released "They Own This Town," which is an intense piano ballad surrounding the struggle of begging a partner to keep fighting for love even through a rough patch.

And be sure to catch these songs and more live when Flora Cash joins lovelytheband on the  'finding it hard to smile tour' this spring!
