Indie-Pop Darling UPSAHL Combats Superficiality with "Drugs"

Unlike most tracks titled "Drugs," 19-year-old UPSAHL's latest single is a powerfully provocative piece of indie pop that isn't even about taking drugs. UPSAHL disputes the superficiality people exhibit at parties by saying she "just came here for the drugs."

This statement is her rejection of attention-seeking individuals by disregarding them for an inanimate substance. Her aim in releasing this single was to "[embrace] genuine people and honest conversations." UPSAHL's ingenious storytelling is what makes her one to watch.

Although she has only released four singles before now, UPSAHL has extensive experience in music from her education at the Arizona School for the Arts. Set to release on March 1, UPSAHL's highly anticipated debut EP will feature "Drugs" as the first single.  In addition to her EP release, she is embarking on a national tour opening for Max Frost. 2019 is looking very promising for Arizona native UPSAHL.
