Mura Masa and Clairo Score Summer's End in "I Don't Think I Can Do This Again"

Mura Masa is no stranger to the unexpected, earth-shattering collaboration. From A$AP Rocky, Charli XCX, the Gorillaz' Damon Albarn, to even BTS, the Guernsey-born producer, songwriter, and vocalist has a remarkable gift for bringing some of the most prolific artists of today into his world.

So, when news dropped that Mura Masa's latest single, "I Don't Think I Can Do This Again," would feature no other than 2019 pop star in the making  Clairo, it was safe to say we were sold before even hearing a second of it. With that being said and having now heard it in full, we are not quite sure if anything could have prepared us for this otherworldly pairing. Clairo's soft-spoken vocals meet Mura Masa's production that runs the gamut from delicate acoustic strumming to explosive club-ready catharsis in a track that has us not quite ready to let go of the summer.

The new single arrives hot on the heels of Clairo's highly-acclaimed debut album Immunity, which saw the bedroom pop artist step into the next step of her career. Produced by Rostam Batmanglij, Immunity saw Clairo moving past the bittersweet teenage numbers of "Pretty Girl" and "Flaming Hot Cheetos" to craft a collection of coming-of-age songs brimming with a level of impressive restraint and emotional honesty that would be awe-inspiring no matter the age of its creator.

In the wake of Immunity, "I Don't Think I Can Do This Again" sees Clairo and Mura Masa leveraging one another's innate strengths to find previously undiscovered common ground. The innate sentimentality of Clairo's wistful musings remain perfectly intact, even as Mura Masa's penchant for experimentation and thrill bubble to the surface. "I Don't Think I Can Do This Again" is the soundtrack to carry you through the bittersweet joy of a fleeting summer.
