slenderbodies - "king" [Live + Interview] | All Eyes On

A perfectly indescribable mirage of downtempo, indie-pop, folk, and electronic sonics, slenderbodies' music may be nigh-impossible to capture with words, but it is an otherworldly blend that will certainly capture your attention. That was certainly the case during our latest All Eyes On showcase, where the California-based duo graced us with a divine live rendition of their single "king" from their latest EP soraya. In addition to whisking us away to another world entirely with their one-of-a-kind-sound, we got to know the people behind the music in an exclusive interview.

"soraya is this amalgamation of all the strong women in our lives. So, that is our grandmothers, mothers, cousins, romantic interests, platonic female friends we've had. soraya is anybody who is a woman who has impacted us in a positive way in our lives," shared slenderbodies in an interview we conducted with the California-based duo surrounding their phenomenal EP soraya.

It is a brief glimpse into the creative process that fuels slenderbodies' sonic meditations, which often revolve around larger concepts, from the power of women as a collective entity to the surrounding mythos of nature. This distinctive approach to music combined with a wholly unique sound has indisputably made slenderbodies one to watch out for in the years to come.
