Inspired by world folk music, monastic choirs, heavy rock and cowboy music, Kiki aims to tell a story with each song, and build a universe within each music video. 

A favourite technique of hers is to retell well known tales, myths and folklore through the eyes of the lesser known narrator. Whether it’s Persephone insisting she chose to enter the underworld on her own accord, or the witches of Salem claiming back their power, she strives to transport the listener to another time and place. 

Kiki writes, produces, sings and plays all the instruments on every one of her tracks, enjoying the solitude of the creative process. The songs tend to write themselves, and they never knock. They arrive big and loud and always when least convenient for her, hitting her like a freight train when she’s in line at the supermarket or driving home at night.
