Almondmilkhunni and Kaliee Morgue Dive Deep Into Their Restless Minds in "Anxiety"

Almondmilkhunni dives into the depths of her restless mind in her latest single, "ANXIETY." Joined by the effervescent presence of alt-pop artist Kaliee Morgue, the artist looks for stability as dance-inducing beats and swirling sonics envelop her.

The single leads with a blend of dreamy guitar riffs and the Philly native's ethereal vocals. She asks, "Can someone tell me that I'm not crazy? / My heart and head don't get along lately," and expresses her growing uneasiness. Then, dynamic layers of beats, synths, and vocal harmonies are brought in to mirror the artist's feelings of losing control of her life and reality. As they grow in intensity, she admits in the pre-chorus, "I don't know how to feel / Cause I don't know what is real."

In the hyperpop-influenced chorus, the singer looks for clarity, begging the question, "Is it you / Is it me / Or is it my anxiety?" In the second verse, Morgue accompanies Almondmilkhunni on this introspective journey, admitting that she too, sometimes, believes her intrusive thoughts and is a victim of self-sabotage. Her wistful vocals seamlessly fit into the nostalgic yet addictively tumultuous soundscapes created by the Almondmilkhunni, adding a touch of comfort to her relatable lyricism.

"ANXIETY" is the latest in a series of singles Almondmilkhunni has released throughout 2023, further cementing herself as a genre-blending artist to watch in the alt-pop space. Most notably, these singles include "MISS U," a lovesick anthem that blends R&B and hyperpop into a smooth and rich sonic experience, and "fake deep," an endorphin-rush-inducing track that sees the artist speak her mind and call out fake friends.
