Ari Abdul Leans Into Her Desires and a New Sound in "DON'T"

Rising artist Ari Abdul releases her new single, "DON'T." The melodic track, produced by dwilly, follows Abdul's previously released track, "DFHMPU." It is a sultry, dark offering that shows the artist's seductive side as she tempts someone to put their money where their mouth is.

The short, tantalizing single wastes no time sucking the listener in with its gloomy, enigmatic guitar riffs and haunting vocalizations. As pop-infused percussion patterns chime in, Abdul's rich vocals fold into the production, crooning, "You been playing with my mind in a cycle / Know you wanna take a bite, but it's fatal." Promising to give both hell and paradise leading into the chorus, she warns, "Where there's a thrill, there's a sacrifice."

Speaking on "DON'T," Abdul says, "This song is about temptation. Specifically, towards something or someone that is not good for you. The production of the song was heavily influenced by sounds of the Seattle grunge scene. 'DON'T' is definitely the start of a new era for me."

The rising star is slated to play two shows in Asbury Park, NJ, with Fletcher and G Flip, plus special guests this summer. This August, she heads out on the UK leg of her 'CCTV Tour' and will perform across Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, and London. Earlier this year, Abdul and fellow label mate Isabel LaRosa went on the road on their co-headlining 'God's Watching Tour,' which saw the artists stop in major cities and play sold-out shows in New York, San Diego, Philadelphia, Dallas, and more.
