Audrey Mika Channels Romantic Confusion Into a Dancefloor-Ready Hit in  "Just Friends"

Audrey Mika's latest outing is a certified bop. If there wasn't a word count to be hit, that and that alone would be the article.

"Just Friends" arrives as the latest offering from pop-R&B phenom Mika, following hot on the heels of the KYLE-assisted remix of "Y U Gotta B Like That" and the collaborative reimagining of SAYGRACE's "Boys Ain't Shit."

An outright iridescent vibe from the very first second, "Just Friends" is a testament to Mika's ability to deliver both emotive R&B-tinged meditations and infectious electropop-driven bouts of ecstasy with equal ease.

Revolving around "a person who sends mixed messages but you're the one who feels that this is not what friends do," the 20-year-old rising artist channels feelings of romantic confusion into a dancefloor-ready hit. The effect is intoxicating. It is the perfect sort of track to score everything from the pregame to the final moments of the night.

More than anything, "Just Friends," with its '80s-evoking shimmers of synth and dynamic modern production, is fun, euphoric pop at its finest.  In the span of less than three minutes, Mika's impressive vocal improvisations and command prove herself as an artist with the promise of Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, or any stadium-filling pop star.
