BETWEEN FRIENDS Chase Heartfelt Childhood Nostalgia in "Friends," Announce 'Garage Sale' EP

LA brother-sister duo BETWEEN FRIENDS explore the troubles of modern love in their latest single, "Friends." The '90s-inspired track encapsulates the deeply relatable feeling of being in situationship purgatory, using sunny instrumentals and sultry vocals to juxtapose the tumultuous predicament.

The single opens with a spacey collage of guitar fuzz and synths before cutting to the summery strums of a solitary guitar. As layers of mellow percussion and subtle warped production effects come back into play, Savannah Hudson's dreamy vocals draw the listener in. Despite working overtime for "dirt cheap," she shares that it's all worth it because her love interest is with her, expressing, "I could walk forever with you." In the playfully hopeful chorus, jangly guitar riffs, grooving bass, and Brandon's robust vocals harmonize seamlessly with Sav, creating a textural hook that's simply irresistible.

"'Friends' is a sort of conclusion to the album dialog," shares the pair about the single. "It's a song about making a new friend and wanting to see each other again. The concept is simple but sincere and somehow applicable to adult friendships. Everyone gets so serious when you grow up, but that childhood feeling is something we should chase."

The new release will be featured on the group's upcoming EP, Garage Sale, out April 12. They will also head out on the road supporting singer-songwriter and rising pop icon Conan Gray on his European tour this fall. Last year, BETWEEN FRIENDS dropped their debut album, I Love My Girl, She's My Boy, featuring artists like Teezo Touchdown, Bakar, and EDEN. Produced with Luka Kloser of Max Martin's MXM, the collection explores the duo's experiences in love and lust through heartfelt, sentimental songwriting and unbelievable production. Following the release, they packed out venues across North America on their 35-date-sold-out tour and performed at the official GRAMMY's NextGen event in Los Angeles.
