GRACEY's "What a Waste" Is the Perfect Cure For Heartbreak

British singer-songwriter GRACEY is back with  "What a Waste," the ultimate breakup bop that doubles as a relatable anthem for tackling that unique post-breakup feeling. Over the course of a divine radio-ready track, GRACEY mourns the time lost more than the loss of the relationship itself.

Not only does  "What a Waste" perfectly sum up the frustration of not being able to ignore the aftershock of a breakup, it also deals with the dread of starting from zero with someone new. Although the track is in the same sonic vein as her BRIT nominated collaboration with 220 Kid and previous release "Got You Covered," "What a Waste" seems to purposefully lack a made-for-the-club feeling. It's still undeniably upbeat and fun, but the production is subtly stripped back to aid the emotional lyrical content.

"I wrote 'What A Waste' in the first raw moments of a recent break-up, when all I felt was the initial loss. Everyone goes through that gut punch of disappointment and frustration at the beginning, when you're looking back at the time, love and energy you put into something that no longer exists and you feel like you wasted your time. Luckily it's just a moment that passes and there's lots to look forward to on the other side, but those initial emotions are still valid. Hopefully this will help others going through something similar," shares GRACEY.

"What a Waste" arrives alongside a compelling music video that encompasses the distinct feeling of the track, through dance and movement. The video is representative of a typical post-breakup day, with fitting visuals such as a tally of days passing hung on the wall, a single pink rose, and uninhibited dance moves that exhibit a frustrating range of emotions.

Overall, "What a Waste" has all the qualities of a great heartbreak banger, balancing an infectious dichotomy of high-energy sonics and melancholic lyricism. GRACEY continues to shine with a terrific blend of relatability and personal yet universally shared sentiments that all float on top of a satisfying pop beat. And we cannot wait to see what else GRACEY has in store for when her upcoming EP, Fragile, releases October 15.
