JAWNY's "adios" Is a Break-Up You Won't Mind Reliving

JAWNY feels like an artist in the midst of continuous reinvention, but perhaps that simply comes with the territory of growing up. With each new single, project, and milestone, the enviable artist charts forth a new course that sees him building on his previous work to present a more refined version of his artistry without sacrificing any of the infectious hallmarks that have come to define him. “adios” is the latest chapter of this unceasing growth, seeing the rising star paint a picture of heartbreak you wouldn’t mind falling headfirst into.

“adios” sees JAWNY reeling over the fallout of a relationship over production carried by nimble guitar lines and sway-inducing vocals. The juxtaposition between JAWNY singing lines like “Come a little closer / Sink into the sofa / She don’t want my love,” and the carefree sonic backdrop that calls to mind the simple joy of feeling the wind on your face as you coast down the highway create an emotional whirlpool that is nothing short of intoxicating. It's a conflicted euphoria, a tender moment of realization and ensuing escapism that we simply cannot get enough of.

The new single arrives hand in hand with a music video, directed by Spencer Ford, that heightens the contrasting thematic elements as JAWNY races through back alleys with his head extended out the side of the passenger seat.

“I could sit here and give a really smart sounding press quote where i make up a story to make this song sound really serious and pretentious”, shares JAWNY, “but the truth of the matter is i wrote a song that i believe in. i made the best music video of all time for it and now it’s out in the world and it’s yours. go nuts with that.”
