Alt-pop’s powerpuff girls Kanii, Riovaz, and Nimstarr join forces to spit out The Heart Racers EP, leaving fans to wonder if we may have the hottest new indie boyband on our hands.

Comprised of four tracks, The Heart Racers EP coasts through an immersive soundscape, hitting every note of indie dance while telling stories of irreparable romance and damaged love. Rather than stepping over each other, these three distinguished acts pair in perfect respect, each shining in their own right.

As he gears up to support PinkPantheress on her forthcoming US Tour, Kanii has taken this project as an opportunity to bite back at those who didn’t invest in his abilities outside of Jersey club. Both coming off of incredibly promising years that doubled their following as artists, Riovaz and Nimstarr only deepen their stylistic malleability on this project as well.

Opening up with “tell me,” it’s nearly impossible to tell which decade this song was produced. It’s a timeless track that sets you alive, solidifying the tone for the project at large: euphoric, engaging, and kinetic. A standout single, “lost without you” would make every N’SYNC member shed tears, modernizing their legacy with an infectious '80s sound.

With pulsing potential, could The Heart Racers EP be only a preview of what’s to come? “It's the start of something fresh and exciting," Kanii says of the collaborative project. Riovaz continues, "This project is a clear example of what we're all capable of as a group.” Nimstarr closes by only feeding our delusions, hinting that it might not be the last time the trio joins forces. "It's a nice intro to our potential and what we can do as a boy band."
