With the pressure we put on ourselves, we tend to be our own harshest critics. Yet just as pressure is used in the creation of diamonds, this kind of self-imposed force can be used to drive us to greatness. It's all about finding the balance.

Singer-songwriter Katie Tupper has found that balance and harnessed this inherent pressure to craft her best work yet. Her newest EP Towards the End, featuring the single "Misbehavin’," is the culmination of hard work, self-reflection, and raw talent. Tupper, speaking about her work on the EP's closing track "Misbehavin'" says, "We spent a really long time perfecting the sound and placing everything intentionally." This not only gives us a superbly crafted song but a genuine one, as Tupper reveals, "It's the closest to myself I've ever felt in a song."

The neo-soul sounds of "Misbehavin'" are led by the luxurious sounding horns, a playful bassline, and warm harmonies giving the track a cozy laid-back vibe, but make no mistake, this is an anthem, a reminder, and a proverb to all who are willing to listen. Tupper draws us in with her velvety, soothing voice so she can lay some truth on us. With "Misbehavin'," Tupper lays down a breakup song of sorts. She has set herself upon a path of defining new patterns, being true to herself, and not compromising for anyone or anything. Some tenets we can all live by and are happy to hear explored throughout the entirety of  Towards the End.
