UK Trio Krooked Tongue Release Euphoric Single "Lupines" | The Noise

Following the success of their thunderous release, "When The Beaches Bleed," Bristol-based rock trio Krooked Tongue are back with their latest single, "Lupines." The new single surrounds listeners in a dark euphoria from its opening note, enrapturing listeners with its hauntingly beautiful sonics.

"Lupines" opens with quiet and subdued instrumentals but as guitarist Dan Smith and drummer Harry Pritchard join vocalist and bassist Oli Rainsford, the trio crescendo into a noise of epic and thrilling beauty. Over a thrilling strum of bass and an echo of a guitar, Rainsford kicks off the song with his signature bluesy vibrato. The confident vocals blend seamlessly with bold and booming music, with brooding bass lines and crunchy guitar riffs weaving in and out of Pritchard's drumming, tying it all together with a proverbial bow.

Vocalist and lyricist Oli Rainsford says of the song, "'Lupines' is in some ways the antithesis to Krooked Tongue's prior single 'When the Beaches Bleed.' Though explosive in its catchy choruses, it shifts the tone slightly in creating a sense of swaying ecstasy. 'Lupines' is a sexy, psychedelic journey through a field of the most colourful flowers you could imagine, yet also stands to challenge you to use that imagination to fight the limitations of your mind. 'Lupines' is a lesson in relinquishing control and enjoying the ride." Rainsford adds that "Lupines," to him, is one of those songs where "you just let go and trust the journey."

"Lupines" is the follow-up to their celebrated single "When the Beaches Bleed" and their debut EP, No Vacancy Hotel. The four-track body of work is a collection of infectious, mosh-inducing songs that showcase the band's natural talent for creating intricate and deep rock music.
