Levi Evans Bares His Soul On New Single "Lay Me By Your Side"

Rising singer-songwriter Levi Evans finds his soul and expresses his vulnerability in his latest single, "Lay Me By Your Side." The heartfelt track is an airy jangle pop effort that explores themes of overcoming conflicts in a relationship and finding common ground despite differences.

Amid a collection of surfy, summery guitar riffs, pop-infused percussion, and rich bass grooves, the multidisciplinary artist tries to figure out where things went wrong between him and his love, lamenting, "I'm looking for just where we lie / Your loading up the car this time / I guess I crossed the line... You hit me like the sun, blindside / I guess I crossed the line." But despite all of the conflict, he expresses that at the end of the day, he wants to share his life and afterlife with this person, proclaiming, "When I'm in a coffin, lay me by your side."

"'Lay Me By Your Side' echoes with the swells of conflict and the embrace of resolution. It tells the tale of enduring the storms within a relationship, where through struggle, love is tempered and strengthened," Evans shares. "Bonds forged in hardship last through the ages."

In the accompanying music video, directed by Evans, viewers follow the artist as his relationship unravels through a series of bad date rom-com clichés. Like the song, the video ends on a positive note, revealing how these challenges ultimately strengthen the young couple's bond.

The new single, "Lay Me By Your Side," follows the success of Evans' first new single of the year, the wildly infectious "Run." With this new release, the rising artist continues to captivate his audience with his unique sound and compelling storytelling. His recent singles also follow his debut 2024 EP Head Chatter. Evans' previous releases, including his breakout track "Back In My Head Again," received praise from American Songwriter, KCRW, Hot Press, Wonderland, and more, earning him a devoted fanbase. He will continue to release new music throughout 2025.
