Love and the fear of losing it are at the core of NoMBe's music. It is a love that transcends sexuality, gender, race, and, in turn, builds the foundation for his highly-anticipated sophomore album, Chromatopia. While we eagerly count down the day to its April 3 release, NoMBe has gifted us with an entrancing visual treatment for the forthcoming album's standout single, "Heels."

"Heels" follows in the footsteps of NoMBe's previously-released singles, "Paint California" and "Prototype," and serves as yet another brilliant demonstration of the noticeable artistic growth present since the release of his 2018 debut album, They Might've Even Loved Me. The dynamic indie pop single pairs NoMBe's magnetic vocals with a wonderfully unpredictable arrangement, resulting in a veritable earworm of a track.

While the sonics and accompanying visual play out like a dream, there is a darker side found at the core of "Heels." The track revolves around overwhelming feelings of guilt, about coming face-to-face with the consequences of your actions. The juxtaposition is captured perfectly in the straightforward and lighthearted video, which features NoMBe dancing in the desert. NoMBe spoke further on bringing the video for "Heels" to life, sharing,

"Sometimes, it's pure necessity that breeds the best ideas. This project was no different… we must've gone over 20 treatment ideas for the video and it came down to this simple concept four days before shooting… much love to my brother Arthur Johnson for not only allowing me to write to his song, but also for directing the video. The whole team did a phenomenal job and I finally got to dance with my girl Bukunmi on camera. I must say, we killed that shit. haha."

NoMBe will be embarking on the "Chromatopia Tour" April 21 in support of his forthcoming sophomore album.
