Queen Of Jeans Fail To Forget Heartbreak On New Single "Karaoke" | THE NOISE

Philly indie alternative faves Queen of Jeans return with their latest single, "Karaoke," an anthem that encapsulates the emotions of a breakup and the path to finding stability around it. Produced by Will Yip, this song encapsulates the ever-growing talent and musical bond that longtime bandmates Miriam Devora (vocals/guitar), Mattie Glass (guitar), and Patrick Wall (drums) have with one another. In their announcement, the group foreshadowed, "This is just the beginning of a lot more exciting things to come."

The single builds upon their signature sound of dreamy melodies, captivating vocals, and irresistible hooks, opening with Devora immediately painting a scene of singing karaoke at a bar to forget someone. Their soothing yet angsty vocals begin to soar as buzzing guitar strums and crashing percussion patterns take hold, creating a sonic experience that's equal parts cathartic and heartbreaking. The track ultimately builds to a climatic final chorus where the chorus's hook, "No matter what I try/ I just work better with you on my mind," especially packs a punch to the gut and the heart.

The accompanying music video for "Karaoke" finds the band in their stomping grounds of South Philly, fittingly enough, at a bar singing karaoke. Chaos ensues as the camera follows Devora at a grocery store where a masked man beats up one of the other patrons who yelled at them. We then cut to the band driving down an empty street, vibing to Devora's passionate performance as she belts the song through the car's sunroof.

Their discography is still growing, but across two albums and several EPs, the Philly trio has already refined and damn-near perfected their process. Working with Will Yip on their last few releases has helped highlight the band's songwriting skills, but it's their chemistry as human beings that genuinely shines the brightest. Following the release of the single, the band will hit the road on a short US tour this fall, hitting major cities like Philadelphia, PA, on November 3 and Boston, MA, on November 6 before ending their journey at Bottom Lounge in Chicago, IL, on November 11.
